2013.01.19 Pub British

On January 19th we left Montreal to play for the first time at the South Shore (Rive Sud), at the Pub British. The idea was to offer the customers an "all included" package including some great food, drinks, and some Jazz/Fusion by us. Sometimes we wonder how things would go during a venue where people are eating and drinking, as Richard and Gustavo's solos sometimes may cause some digestive problems. In any case, the event went absolutely great, the place was quite full and people really appreciated the music. Lots of questions about the Warr guitar, the music and Krakatoa in general. We hope the future brings us the opportunity to play there again, the owners are great, the stuff and service are world class.

The "new" thing that night was Gustavo's new Warwick Thumb bass, it seems this one is a keeper, we could play the whole bass repertoire with the instrument, it has an amazing spectrum of sounds 

The only curious thing was the sound system, which almost died on us... thank you Real Defosses for lending your equipment and coming to the show, it was great to see and play for an old friend.

2013.01.13 Upstairs Jazz

We played again at the Upstairs Jazz Bar, which we feel is possibly one of the best venues in Montreal to bring our music. This time we had the live feed connected so some friends and family could see the show through the internet. The show was great, ambiance, food and drinks were perfect as always. For a Sunday we believe we did quite well, as there were several new faces that ended applauding a lot. Thank you very much to Joel Giberovitch for maintaining this great place going. This time we gave birth to "Mercurio" a little-nuts composition in 7/4 that took some time to get grounded. You will see that it may have been to early to play it, but it is a nice application for the FBass, so we went ahead, not bad considering the tune is 1 week old. Enjoy!

2012.12.16 Club Balattou

Last sunday we played again at the Balattou, and had a great time. For this journal entry we have no photos or videos, but it was great to see the patrons again and some of the public that came to enjoy our music. Thank you!!!

2012.12.15 Petit Medley

To start closing this very busy year, we prepared a 2 hour show we delivered at the Petit Medley. This was one of the "big" events we had planned for December, with lots of people invited, the appearance of Goran Jezdimir as our invited artist, and quite a difficult set of music that required lots of changes, new songs, lots of switches between instruments... the works. It was an incredible night for us, full of memorable moments we will never forget. For those that took the initiative to come see us (specially our friends from SF, Rockwell, Wulftec) and our dear friends and family we thank you very much for having participated on this great event. 
For this occasion we had planned the participation of Goran Jezdimir (les Gitans de Sarajevo), a magician musician that masters the flute and the sax incredibly well. We know Goran as he teaches sax to our dear fiend Gerry Custo, and following his suggestion we invited him to play on three of our songs, "el Mejillon", "Bronx" and "la Corrida". The videos below give great testament of what it was an incredible night. Thank you all for coming, thank you Erin for working our video projector, and thank you Beatriz for your magnificent videos.

2012.11.25 Bar Balattou

On November 25th we played at the Bar Balattou, after a long week of gigs (Thursday, Saturday and then Sunday). As always it is great to play there, the only detail was that having the first snow coming down, it was impossible to get people out of their houses to come downtown to see some music, so we got the humble audience of one (1) person. The gentleman in question, beyond the heroic gesture of battling the elements, he clapped and cheered us after each song, so it made the whole effort worthwhile for us. We took the opportunity to record some videos, and we had the great pleasure to have Diego Vacca doing his magic on his Electronic Drums.
